MCLE Auctions Red Sox Playoff
Tickets to Benefit Monroe Inker
Scholarship Fund!
Auction open until 3:00 pm, Thursday, September 22, 2011
Minimum Starting Bid: $3,995
The playoffs are coming! The playoffs are coming! In March, MCLE auctioned a pair of 2011 season tickets to all Boston Red Sox regular season home games, the proceeds from which benefited the Monroe L. Inker Scholarship Fund, which was first established in 2006 to honor the life and work of one of the Commonwealth's most distinguished family law attorneys. The Monroe L. Inker Scholarship Fund, as a result of successful auctions over the years, now endows 39 scholarships every year, in perpetuity.
Now, as the 2011 season approaches its end, the Red Sox—and Red Sox Nation along with them—are on the verge of another playoff berth. Once again, MCLE is honored to offer for auction, to the highest bidder, Monroe Inker's pair of Red Sox tickets to all home playoff games (total face value of $3,995). These are great seats, which Monroe himself occupied for nearly 50 years. The amount of the winning bid in excess of the face value of the tickets will be designated as a tax-deductible contribution to the Monroe L. Inker Scholarship Fund. The details of the bidding are as follows:
Item: Red Sox tickets consisting of 2 seats to all 2011 home playoff games (10 possible games in all)
Location of Seats: Loge Box 116, Section 16, Row HH, seats 3 and 4
First Home Game: To be announced
• Division Series: September 30th - October 6th, as needed
League Championship Series: October 8th - October 16th, as needed
World Series: October 19th - October 27th, as needed
• American League team to host Games 3, 4 and, if necessary, 5
Bidding Ends: Thursday, September 22nd at 3:00 pm
Minimum Starting Bid: $3,995 (face value of tickets)
• This amount includes 2 seats to all possible home games throughout the playoffs.
• If for some unfortunate reason, the Red Sox fail to make the playoffs, the full amount of
the winning bid will be returned. However, if the Red Sox make the playoffs (regardless of
the number of home games played), the amount of the winning bid in excess of the face
value of the tickets will be retained by MCLE for the benefit of the Monroe L. Inker
Scholarship Fund.
• Any refund for unused games (in the amount of the face value of the remaining unused
tickets) will be forwarded to the winning bidder.
Memories of Fenway at playoff time to cherish forever: Priceless!
To place your bid, please email it to nsims@mcle.org. Bidding will remain open until 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 22, 2011. The winner will be notified by email immediately thereafter.
Throughout the bidding process, MCLE will post developments in the bidding on its website at www.mcle.org and keep auction participants informed of new high bids as they are received.
Once payment of the winning bid is received, MCLE will deliver the full set of playoff tickets to the winner.
Despite a slow start, it has been another exciting year with contributions from new faces and veterans alike as the Boston Red Sox battle it out down the stretch with their eyes and bats poised for the Fall Classic. Red Sox fever—and fan expectations—is running high. Here's your chance to be part of the action!
This is a wonderful opportunity to honor Monroe, support MCLE's scholarship program, and experience historic Fenway Park during the most magical time of the year—the playoffs!
