DONALD N. FREEDMAN is a principal of the firm of Rosenberg, Freedman & Goldstein LLP in Newton, where he concentrates on elder law, estate and long-term planning for families with children with special needs, work- and entitlement-related legal problems of adults with disabilities, and advising trustees, guardians, and other fiduciaries on meeting their responsibilities. He has served as board chair of the Massachusetts and New Hampshire chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and as a member of both the Governor’s Commission on Mental Retardation and the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council. He serves as board chair of Learning Prep, a school for children with special needs. Mr. Freedman is a frequent author and presenter on elder and disability law topics. In 2009, he was chosen by MCLE to be a recipient of its Scholar-Mentor Award for “outstanding contributions to legal education” over the past twenty-five years.
