LISA C. GOODHEART is a partner with the Boston litigation firm of Sugarman, Rogers, Barshak & Cohen, P.C., where she focuses on environmental, real estate and business disputes. Ms. Goodheart serves as the Chair of the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission, which assists and advises the Governor in the selection of candidates for state judicial appointments. She is the Vice-President of the Boston Bar Association for 2009-2010, and a former President of New England Women in Real Estate (NEWIRE). She served on the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Environmental Law for a 2005-2008 term, and she is a long-time member of MCLE’s Civil Litigation Curriculum Advisory Committee. Ms. Goodheart has been recognized in the area of environmental law in Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers, and in The Best Lawyers in America. She has also been named by Boston Magazine as a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer,” one of the top 100 lawyers in New England and Massachusetts, and one of the top 50 women lawyers in New England and Massachusetts. In 1997 she was named as one of 10 “Lawyers of the Year” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, based on her involvement in significant environmental cases. Ms. Goodheart speaks frequently on environmental, land use and litigation topics, and has published articles in the Massachusetts Law Review, Boston Bar Journal, Banker & Tradesman, and Chemical Waste Litigation Reporter. She received her B.A. from Williams College and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. (August 2009)
