PHILIP J. GORDON is the Managing Partner of Gordon Law Group, LLP, and the President of the Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Association (the chartered state affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association).  He is an experienced employment attorney, representing employees in every aspect of the employment relationship, with a particular concentration on class and collective action litigation for discrimination, overtime pay, minimum wages, regular wages, tips and commissions.  As a class action employment attorney, Mr. Gordon represents thousands of employees in actions against Federal Express, Wal-Mart, 1-800-East-West Mortgage Company, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, Event Temps and other large employers.  After completing law school at Suffolk University, where he graduated with honors and served as Technical Editor of the Suffolk University Law Review, Mr. Gordon clerked for Justice Charles Fried of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.  Following his judicial clerkship, Mr. Gordon worked for Hale and Dorr, LLP (now WilmerHale LLP) before becoming General Counsel of GenuOne, Inc. (later acquired by OpSec Security Group and now traded on the London Stock Exchange).  A frequent author, lecturer and panelist on wage and hour issues, Mr. Gordon has testified on numerous occasions before the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development of the House and Senate, most recently in connection with legislation to restore multiple damages to the wage laws, to end the practice of abusive pre-employment waivers and to extend the statute of limitations in overtime actions.  Mr. Gordon has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in Law & Politics every year since 2004, and has been named as one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in Massachusetts.”  In addition to his legal work, Mr. Gordon serves on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition and the New Center for Arts and Culture.
