DAVID A.F. LEWIS is the founder of the Cambridge law firm of David A.F. Lewis, LLC. He is a graduate of Hamilton College and the University of Denver College of Law and is licensed to practice law in both Massachusetts and Colorado. Mr. Lewis is a former special assistant attorney general in the Massachusetts Attorney Generals Office. His practice has specialized on civil and criminal appeals in state and federal court since 1997. He has presented at multiple appellate CLE seminars and is the author of several articles on appellate advocacy. Several of the articles detail the results of his ongoing survey of the advocacy preferences of state and federal appellate judges, including “138 Appellate Judges Can't Be Wrong” in the August 2007 edition of The Champion and “If You Have Seen One Circuit, Have You Seen Them All?: A Comparison of the Advcacy Preferences in Three Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal,” 83 Denv.
