GREGOR I. MCGREGOR is the founder of the Boston-based environmental law firm, McGregor & Associates, PC, which handles environmental, land use, and real estate matters and related litigation. He also is a founding member of the national Environmental Law Network, an alliance of specialty law firms sharing expertise and experience with each other for the benefit of their clients. Mr. McGregor's cases in court have broken new ground in environmental impact statements, wetland and floodplain protection, hazardous waste liability, land preservation and taxation, Home Rule powers for cities and towns, enforcement and contempt remedies, eminent domain, and the constitutional doctrine of "taking without compensation." He has been in the private practice of law since 1975. Until then he was an assistant attorney general and the first chief of the Division of Environmental Protection in Massachusetts. He is also cochair of the MCLE Annual Environmental and Land Use Law Conference, cochair of the MCLE Real Estate and Environmental Law Curriculum Advisory Committee, and cochair of the environmental committee of the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts (REBA).
