DAVID A. PARKE is a partner with Bulkley, Richardson and Gelinas LLP of Springfield, and a member of the firm's business and finance department. His practice focuses on general corporate and business matters, including mergers and acquisitions and other transactional matters. Mr. Parke's practice includes helping businesses and business owners in connection with organizational, commercial, trade, and other issues arising in the ordinary course of operations; drafting and negotiating contracts; and transactions of different types and sizes. Mr. Parke has represented clients in closing numerous business acquisitions, and has served as general counsel to various large and small organizations. In addition, he performs pro bono work for various nonprofit and civic organizations. Mr. Parke has spoken regularly at continuing legal education programs regarding business corporations, small business planning, business organization basics, Massachusetts limited liability companies, and business acquisitions. He is the author of Forming a Massachusetts Corporation Under Chapter 156D (MCLE, Inc. 2005); a coauthor of The Massachusetts Corporation: Legal Aspects of Organization and Operation, published by the Bureau of National Affairs; a contributing author to A Practical Guide to Massachusetts Limited Liability Companies (MCLE, Inc. 2d ed. 2006 & Supp. 2008); and a contributing author to Doing Business in States Other Than the State of Incorporation, published by the Bureau of National Affairs. Mr. Parke is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A., 1975) and the Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., 1979). He has been an active member of several professional and local boards and organizations, and has served as chair of the Business Law Section Council and as a member of the Tax Law Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
