KATHLEEN KING PARKER is a partner at Pierce Atwood LLP, in the firm's Boston office, and a member of the firm's state and local tax practice. Ms. Parker's practice concentrates on state tax matters and state tax litigation. She has significant experience in federal and local tax matters and multistate tax planning. Ms. Parker is a past chair of the Tax Section of the Boston Bar Association (BBA) and a past chair of its state tax committee. She is a past cochair of the BBA's limited liability company task force, which assisted in drafting the Massachusetts LLC statute. Ms. Parker is active in the state and local tax committee of the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association (ABA) and is a past president and member of the board of the National Association of State Bar Tax Sections. She is a trustee of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation. She speaks and writes on tax law and related subjects and is the author of the Massachusetts chapter of the ABA's Sales & Use Tax Desk Book. Ms. Parker received a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, a J.D. from Boston College Law School, and an LL.M. in taxation from Boston University School of Law. (2008)
