JAY D. ROSENBAUM is a partner in the private client department of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP in Boston. Mr. Rosenbaum concentrates his practice on wealth transfer planning, estate and trust administration, and estate and gift tax minimization strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families. He also serves as an advisor to nonprofit institutions, as well as individuals as they seek to achieve their philanthropic goals. Drawing on his experience with corporate mergers, acquisitions, and financing transactions, Mr. Rosenbaum has developed a particular specialty in business succession planning. By integrating business planning with wealth transfer planning, he has advised a number of successful companies and their owners and executives through a wide variety of corporate transactions and transitions. From 2002 through 2005, Mr. Rosenbaum served as a visiting member of the Harvard Law School faculty, where he taught wills and trusts. He also served as a co chairperson of the trusts and estates section of the Boston Bar Association from 2003 through 2005. He continues to sit on the trusts and estates section steering committee, where he currently co chairs the legislative committee. Mr. Rosenbaum is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, and a frequent speaker on estate planning at a variety of continuing education programs for attorneys, accountants, and other financial services professionals. He also was named a Rising Star in the area of estate planning/trusts by the Massachusetts Super Lawyers publication.
