MICHAEL P. SAMS is a member in the Boston-based firm Kenney & Sams, P.C. His practice is concentrated in the areas of business litigation, construction law, and insurance law. He is a member of the MBA, the BBA, and regularly lectures on litigation practice issues for MCLE and the MBA. Mr. Sams received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Rhode Island in 1990, and his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1994, where, while attending, he interned with the Massachusetts Appeals Court. He is admitted to practice in all Massachusetts courts, including the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit. Mr. Sams chaired Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education’s 2005 and 2008 presentations on public construction law reform, he chaired MCLE’s 2009 program on representing Contractors During Difficult Financial Times, served on the MCLE deposition workshop faculty concerning proper deposition practice from 1999-2005, and on MCLE’s panel presenting on Massachusetts Evidence in 2009. He also chaired the MBA’s Taking Depositions With Confidence program in 2009. Mr. Sams is General Counsel to the Gould Construction Institute and serves on the Board of the Construction Financial Management Association and the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. Mr. Sams is a member of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association, where he serves on the Board of Trustees and co-chairs the Communications Committee. He is also a member of the Boston Inn of Courts, where he serves as its Co-President on the Executive Committee. (October 2010)
