RICHARD C. VAN NOSTRAND is a partner in the litigation department at Mirick, O'Connell, DeMallie & Lougee LLP in Worcester. He received his B.A. from Binghamton University (formerly the State University of New York at Binghamton) and his J.D. from Duke University School of Law. Mr. Van Nostrand currently sits on the Judicial Nominating Commission by appointment of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and serves as a trustee of the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation by appointment of the Supreme Judicial Court. Mr. Van Nostrand is also a Massachusetts delegate to the American Bar Association House of Delegates. He has served as president of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the New England Bar Association, and the Worcester County Bar Association. Mr. Van Nostrand is a member of the MCLE Board of Trustees. He is a frequent lecturer on business and employment litigation and other general civil litigation topics. He is a life member of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation. (September 2009)
