MCLE Celebrates This Year’s Scholar-Mentors!
Longtime volunteers recognized for their service

MCLE annually recognizes as SCHOLAR-MENTORS outstanding individuals who have “raised the bar” through their career-long contributions to the continuing legal education of the bar and their exceptional service to the legal profession by volunteering their time and expertise to MCLE programs and publications. This year, MCLE honors three dedicated volunteers as Scholar-Mentors—

ImageSTEPHEN Y. CHOW, practicing as Stephen Y. Chow, PC, and of counsel to Hsuanyeh Law Group, PC, has served technology companies from start-up to Fortune 50 for more than forty years. He is a troubleshooter for those companies across competition, financial, governance, and intellectual property issues, as both a litigator and transactional lawyer. Stephen’s MCLE volunteer work extends across programs and publications: He is editor of Data Security and Privacy in Massachusetts and, just this year, has chaired cutting-edge programs like IP Law in the Metaverse and "Artificial Intelligence" Ethics for Attorneys.

ImageLISA M. CUKIER is a partner in the family law, fiduciary litigation and services, and trusts and estates groups at Rubin and Rudman LLP. Lisa lends her expertise to a wide range of MCLE topics that impact families; including serving as a chapter author of the Massachusetts Divorce Law Practice Manual and teaching programs like Tax Issues in Choice of Entity & Succession Planning and the upcoming 2025 program, Representing Clients in the LGBTQIA+ Community.

ImageHON. WILLIAM G. YOUNG has been a judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts in Boston since 1985, also previously serving as chief judge. His courthouse programs, On Trial With Judge Young and Judge Young on Using the Rules of Evidence to Persuade offer a unique opportunity to learn in the courtroom and his 1998 MCLE Legal Heritage Series book, Reflections of a Trial Judge, provides ongoing, critical support for MCLE’s scholarship endowment.

Collectively, these three outstanding volunteers represent over 80 years of MCLE program participation across practice areas and skills levels. MCLE is truly thankful for their willingness to share their time and expertise. Their dedication is an integral part of our continuing effort to educate the bar and help enhance the quality of legal services provided to the public.

Congratulations again to this trio of dedicated MCLE volunteers!
