Additionally, the Board of Registration in Medicine is considering significant revisions to its regulations regarding disciplinary proceedings and Patient Care Assessment Programs that will also affect physicians and medical staff credentialing. From a business perspective, the changing dynamics and trends toward more integration and shared risk in contracting with third-party payers are driving more physicians and providers to sell or merge their practices and/or become employees of larger organizations.
