    Product Description

Federal and Massachusetts laws regulating the practice and business of health care are ever changing. The 2016 legislation restricting opioid prescriptions and requiring inquiry of the Prescription Monitoring Program registry is one example. Additionally, the Board of Registration in Medicine is considering significant revisions to its regulations regarding disciplinary proceedings and Patient Care Assessment Programs that will also affect physicians and medical staff credentialing. From a business perspective, the changing dynamics and trends toward more integration and shared risk in contracting with third-party payers are driving more physicians and providers to sell or merge their practices and/or become employees of larger organizations. Keeping up on the latest changes is essential, not only for the health care lawyer, but also for the business attorney who handles matters involving physicians and other licensed practitioners.

This program brings you a series of cutting-edge topics covering the most recent developments in the regulation of physicians and other health care professionals. The faculty perspectives range from legislative developments to government enforcement, regulatory compliance, and transactional matters.
