A protective order (order of impoundment) is the legal mechanism by which a court seals certain information off from individuals, counsel, or the public. This program provides an overview of the grounds upon which parties can seek impoundment, as well as objections to motions for protective orders and bases for relief from orders of impoundment, in criminal and delinquency cases.
