    Product Description

MCLE’s Juvenile Delinquency & Child Welfare Law Conference addresses current issues in the juvenile delinquency and child welfare practice areas, with a special focus this year on practical steps to move forward on important topics introduced at prior conferences. Come spend the day with experts who provide an in-depth understanding and practical tools related to issues of race, implicit bias, trauma, adolescent brain development and working with foreign-born clients.

Conference highlights include keynote speaker Dr. Kenneth Hardy who provides insight and practical advice for working with children, youth and parents experiencing the trauma of racial oppression. Our afternoon keynote, Dr. Judith Edersheim, provides the latest research on what is going on in the minds of teens and young adults.

Conference workshops provide the most up-to-date information and practical tools related to language access for clients, immigration law in the new era, and practical tips for reducing our own implicit bias. An expert on mindfulness for lawyers teaches you how to integrate mindfulness practices into your life and work to be more focused, more balanced, and more resilient.
