The McLane Middleton Scholarship Fund will underwrite 10 scholarships to MCLE programs every year to support pro bono and legal aid training

March 6, 2017—MCLE is pleased to announce a leadership gift from McLane Middleton, PA, to support pro bono and legal aid training.

Since its inception in 1919, McLane Middleton’s steadfast commitment to pro bono work and giving back to its communities has been a recognized hallmark of the firm’s practice. Rooted in a proud heritage and in the examples set by such firm leaders as John McLane and Jack Middleton, that deep commitment to providing services to the poor and underprivileged continues strong today. The firm actively encourages all of its attorneys to perform at least 30 to 50 hours of pro bono service annually.

McLane Middleton’s commitment does not end there. Always looking for opportunities to further enhance its pro bono efforts and community involvement, the firm recently made a generous leadership pledge of $25,000 to MCLE’s scholarship endowment to establish the McLane Middleton Scholarship Fund to support pro bono and legal aid training. As a result, this fund will provide 10 scholarships to MCLE programs every year to deserving lawyers who serve the public interest, including private practitioners who accept pro bono cases and legal aid staff attorneys who serve those in need.

“Providing legal services to the poor and underprivileged through pro bono service is an integral part of the firm culture and tradition at McLane Middleton, of which we are very proud. Supporting MCLE’s scholarship program that helps train lawyers who, day in and day out, do the important work of serving the most vulnerable members of our society is a logical extension of our commitment to the communities in which we live and work.”
John Colucci, Esq., CPA
Managing Director, Woburn Office, McLane Middleton, PA

MCLE’s Board of Trustees thanks McLane Middleton and all of the firm’s partners for its leadership gift and for helping MCLE in its efforts to build its endowment so that the Commonwealth’s most needy have access to the best trained lawyers.
