      Dear Subscriber:

      Thank you for updating your reference library with the 201p edition of the Massachusetts School Law Sourcebook & Citator. This publication combines the latest in school law sourcebook materials—statutes, regulations, and administrative resources—with a case digest summarizing Bureau of Special Education Appeals decisions from the past year. Case digests from the 2014–2018 editions are available as part of the book's electronic materials.

      The following are just some of the updates in the new edition:

      • statutory changes on topics including the creation of a safe and supportive schools framework, student financial literacy, the teaching of U.S. history and civics, and student use of tobacco products (see Part 1);
      • revised state regulations on school district accountability, special education, educator licensure, and vocational technical education (see Part 2);
      • revisions to 34 C.F.R. Part 300, Assistance to States for the Education of Children with disabilities (see Part 5);
      • abstracts of selected decisions issued by the Bureau of Special Education Appeals from November 2017 to November 2018 (see Part 6).

      Thank you for your continued support of MCLE. We hope you find this resource to be of continued assistance in your library and in your practice.

      Very truly yours,

      Alexis J. LeBlanc, Esq., MCLE Publications Attorney
