Product Description
Ransomware—malware that encrypts and possibly steals data and files from a network—poses a serious threat. Both the frequency and severity of ransomware attacks have increased dramatically in the last two years, with incidents rising by 100% since 2019 and the average payout increasing by 171%. While the ransom demand itself can be costly, the recovery can be even more expensive. The City of Atlanta spent over $17 million to recover from a malware attack that demanded $52,000.Victims are not limited to large companies or organizations. In 2020, 20% of ransomware victims were small to mid-sized businesses, and 85% of managed service providers report ransomware as a common threat to businesses in that range. For lawyers, the danger goes beyond ransom payments and recovery costs: an attack can lock you out of your files or result in the theft of clients' sensitive information.
Join our experts as we look at strategies to decrease the likelihood of a successful attack and improve an organization's ability to recovery after one.
