    Product Description

MCLE is pleased to present its 9th Annual Legal Services Conference, which brings together the Massachusetts legal services community for a day of learning. This year’s Conference focuses on individual and collective trauma, the manifestations of trauma, and practical tips on how legal aid advocates and programs can incorporate supportive, culturally responsive practices that promote healing.

The COVID-19 pandemic, systemic oppression against communities of color and immigrants, gun violence and mass shootings, and international crises have exacerbated the existing trauma of people experiencing poverty and racism. Recognizing and understanding the individual and collective impact and manifestations of trauma experienced by people living in poverty, communities subjected to racism and racial violence, survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, children, victims of crime, and immigrants and refugees who fled wars, natural disasters and political oppression enables legal aid practitioners to consider the most effective ways to be supportive—and also to better understand the root causes of the harm.

You don’t want to miss this opportunity to connect with your colleagues, learn from existing challenges, and gain practical knowledge to effectively work with clients.
