License agreements involving artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly common across industries and they raise unique issues that attorneys from diverse practice areas should be aware of. These agreements may pertain specifically to software but may also involve access to data, AI-generated content, and the use of underlying models or platforms. Since AI systems may incorporate open-source components or be trained on third-party data, organizations and outside counsel must be diligent in evaluating the impact on upstream and downstream licensing and usage rights as well as the impact on future developments and other business concerns, such as asset valuations. This two-hour program discusses key considerations in drafting and negotiating AI-related license agreements to help you identify areas of potential risk, anticipate compliance challenges, and support clients in making informed, strategic decisions.
