Faculty walk participants through the core legal elements of negligence—duty, breach, causation, and damages—and how these elements play out in both bringing and defending civil claims. Attendees gain practical insight into identifying viable cases, developing key evidence, and navigating pretrial strategy from either side of the courtroom. The program also explores the role of expert testimony, comparative fault, and common defenses that can make or break a negligence case.

The program further addresses settlement dynamics, insurance considerations, and effective client communication throughout the life of the case. Whether representing plaintiffs or defendants, participants learn how to assess liability exposure, respond to discovery demands, and prepare for trial or resolution. This training equips attorneys with the tools needed to effectively advocate for their clients in negligence matters involving personal injury, property damage, or professional liability.
