    Product Description

Nationally, the medical marijuana or “cannabis” industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, with medical marijuana laws passed in 42 states, and several states with recreational marijuana programs. The seemingly rapid evolution of the industry—sometimes referred to as the “green rush”—has done little to diminish the inherent legal uncertainties that arise as policy and law is applied to this new field.

Counsel for marijuana businesses must address unique legal issues relating to regulatory compliance, state licensing, and local siting, while also addressing standard business law issues relating to contract drafting, corporate structure, and tax implications—through the unique lense of marijuana laws.

This program analyzes key aspects of the Massachusetts medical marijuana law pertinent to business law practitioners—such as those relating to licensing, permitting, financing, corporate structure, and tax considerations—and features discussion of applicable Federal law and risk assessments. Hear from expert panelists who provide insight into the complex business and legal issues underlying marijuana dispensary operations.
